Short Description

Endless sandy beaches and steep coasts, sleepy villages and vibrant cities: Always following the yellow arrows or the shell on selected day hikes, we'll make our way through Asturia until we finally reach succulently green Galicia and end at every pilgrim's dream destination: Santiago de Compostela.  The diverse St James' Way in the North of the Iberian peninsula is also called Camino de la Costa.  Historically it lead pilgrims after around 800 kilometres from Irun to the grave of the Holy Apostle, ahead of the better known Camino Francés.

Despite modern infrastructure, the coastal path has maintained the charm of an original and endearingly personal Way of St James.  Relaxed hiking in conjunction with visits to the historical cities and monuments and an excursion to the Picos de Europa National Park turn this trip into a true experience.  Many of the points of interest are UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites, including the cathedrals of Oviedo and Santiago de Compostela as well as the Roman walls of Lugo.
