ANNA MARIA DAHM

German-born Anna Maria, who speaks perfect English and Spanish, has been living in the Catalan Pyrenees for many years, focusing on Spain as a cultural and hiking guide since 2005.

Whether trekking, climbing mountains or hiking: "Gently opening people up – travelers and those that greet us as such.  Taking the time to really understand what guest and host are interested in and then establishing a connection between mountain, path, (cultural) landscape and individual."

Anna Maria is also constantly on journeys of discovery for other renowned tour operators from Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  During summer she leads her groups through the Pyrenees from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean.  Alongside the long distance walks GR11 in Spain and GR10 in France, Anna Maria and Nacho Carreras have specialised on Catalonia, Camino del Norte and Picos de Europa.  Both place emphasis on sincere and amiable dealings with individual group members and locals.

What I value: "You and us, together as a team: persistent whilst climbing Aneto, pensive whilst within the unique mountain world of Picos de Europa and tough whilst crossing the Pyrenees from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Oceans."

During winter, Anna Maria is a ski instructor at  Baqueira-Beret, Spain's largest ski resort. Home has previously been Berlin, Barcelona and San Francisco, where she worked as a travel journalist and marketing manager.

"To imbue athletic and cultural activities with an irresistible lightness of being" - this is what this fun-loving and meticulous hiking guide is motivated by.

NACHO CARRERAS

Nacho Carreras has been a devotee of the Pyrenees since he was four years old and is a passionate mountaineer.  Born in Barcelona, he will guarantee you absolute safety and exactitude, be it hiking, rock climbing, canyoning or mountaineering.

Nacho intuitively understands the needs of every single participant and his considerable knowledge of his native country turns every mountain, hiking or ski trip into a genuine experience.

He benefits from extensive experience gained during the summers and winters he spent in the Alps: after many years of residency in Switzerland, Austria and Germany he has not only climbed Matterhorn but is also fluent in German.

His vast experience and great team spirit have made Nacho an expert who, together with Anna Maria Dahm, is at the heart of Guides Pyrenäen.  Two passionate hiking guides: Whether in the Pyrenees, Picos de Europa or on the Camino del Norte, Nacho and Anna Maria will engage you with their enthusiasm for the country and its people.

During winter, Nacho accompanies groups on ski tours and snowshoe hikes and works as a ski and snowboard instructor in Spain's largest ski resort, Baqueira-Beret.

TONI GONZALEZ

Born in Barcelona, Toni was drawn to the mountains rather than the beach even as a small boy. This rock climbing and canyoning specialist has made his home in the Catalan Pyrenees for the past 30 years.

Toni offers trips near Aigüestortes i Sant Maurici National Park both in summer and winter.  This local guide knows the region inside out:

" My experience guarantees exciting yet safe trips, be it rock climbing or hiking through ravines." Whether hiking on snowshoes, canoeing or rock climbing, you won't just be safe on a rope as you go on a discovery trip with Toni.

MOISES SANZ

"Each new group and each activity present a new challenge, as all participants should experience as much excitement as possible and also enjoy maximum security." Apart from being a state certified rock climbing and mountain guide and ski instructor, Moises Sanz also researches avalanches.

His other passion is mountain biking: This expert will accompany you on selected routes through the Catalonian and Aragonian Pyrenees. With Moises you will also discover the manifold flora and fauna of Aigüestortes i Sant Maurici National Park.
